Linda Moran

My practice is grounded in kindness, compassion, deep intuition and a commitment to emotional and physical safety. I am an accredited social worker and counsellor with 25 years of experience across the public and private sectors.

I have a special interest in supporting people experiencing anxiety, burnout and complex PTSD, as well as those navigating personal growth and change. My interests also include neurodiversity and the connection between mind, body and wellbeing.

Counselling approach

I see therapy as a creative, collaborative partnership where we explore your experiences, build on your strengths and find practical ways to navigate challenges. Together, we can also explore ways to settle your nervous system and ease tension.

My approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on safety, choice and working at a pace that feels right for you. I support you to understand what may be keeping you stuck and develop ways to move towards the life you want to live.

I draw on a range of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, psychoeducation, problem-solving, skill development and Narrative Therapy. I also incorporate somatic approaches such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Brainspotting (BSP), body awareness and grounding exercises, tailoring our work to your needs and preferences.

Who I support

I bring a warm, personable and holistic approach to counselling, supporting children, adolescents, adults and older people through different stages of life. My work primarily focuses on individual counselling, as well as supporting parents and carers alongside their children.

I welcome people from diverse cultural backgrounds and recognise how racial, cultural and systemic factors can influence wellbeing. Living overseas for more than a decade in a country experiencing widespread poverty deepened my understanding of social inequality and strengthened my commitment to working alongside Indigenous peoples. I have experience counselling Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and approach this work with respect for their cultures, identities and lived experiences.

I also have extensive experience in the disability sector, supporting people with physical and psychosocial disabilities, including NDIS participants.

I recognise each person as the expert in their own life. My role is to build on your strengths and provide knowledge, practical tools and resources that support you to navigate challenges safely and with greater confidence.
